This week, we're beginning a series of discussions with the organizers of LADY GEEKS uNITE here in Edmonton! In the first episode of this series, Danica and Brandon talk with Sylvia Douglas about reasons that the group exists, and what they hope to accomplish, and the pervasive nature of rape culture in comics.

Get the hot water boiling Edmonton, because it's time for a nice cup of tea and a new episode of YEGS & BACON - you're very own pop culture and comics morning show!

On this week's episode, we're presenting the full audio from this weekend's Nerd Community For All! panel at the 2015 Pure Spec convention. The panel featured Yegs & Bacon regulars Danica LeBlanc and Brandon Schatz, as well as Lady Geek's uNite's very own Sylvia Douglas, who is making her podcast debut with this episode!

During the panel, we talked about the various ways both of our organizations have been building up an inclusive nerd community while taking questions and comments from the audience. Some of the comments from the back are a little hard to hear, which sadly could not be helped.

Recorded on Saturday, October 24th, 2015.

Wake your faces up, Edmonton, because it's time for another episode of YEGS & BACON, Edmonton's greatest pop culture and comics morning show.

On the show this week, we're talking about some heady comic book drama. Specifically, the time that Brian Wood called on people to stop talking about the systemic sexism within the comic book industry, because the perpetrators are a) seemingly untouchable and b) are somehow victims of... their own actions? Seriously, it's pretty messed up, and the comic news sites aren't talking about it - which is weird because not talking about these things is how we arrived here.

In less angering news, we talk about the return of Doctor Who this weekend, and our picks for some of this week's best comics!

Oh by the way, here's a link to what Brian Wood said. Because why not: http://pastebin.com/BkP8r9m0
