Featuring the audio from the second part of our Gender Is Not A Genre: LGBTQ Representation in Pop Culture panel from May 28th, 2016 - co-presented with WTF+YEG

PANELISTS

Allison Paige is a queer artist who makes comics and mistakes with equal enthusiasm. With her collaborator Amber Noelle, Allison recently self-published Whispering Ash: Ophelia, the first instalment of a regency-era horror series.

Her comic Work/Life Balance, with writer Steve Foxe, will be in the upcoming Oath Anthology of New Heroes. Follow her work at rabbitcourage.com!

-----

Devon Elizabeth Bryce (BA, MA, BEd)
I'm a teacher at an Outreach School, where I spend my days convincing people that 'alot' isn't a word, having engaging conversations about books, and spreading the joy of good grammar. In my off hours, I enjoy trail running and eating Oreos, though not usually at the same time. My caffeine of choice is Tea. Earl Grey. Hot. I believe that true learning is messy and sometimes uncomfortable, which, really, describes many aspects of my life.

-----

Russia
I'm a gender fluid / non conforming illustrator who writes and illustrates a web-comic called Digital Ninja, which is an LGTBQ themed hard dystopian cyberpunk

-----

Linh Lu

Linh currently works for the Pride Centre of Edmonton as the Youth Outreach Coordinator, and in the past has run various queer groups and been apart of even more organizations, focusing recently on the intersections between racial justice and gender justice. Linh's passion for comics was sparked by superheroes inspiring and dreaming of a better tomorrow. Linh likes to rant about publishing, comics and diversifying who we staff, not just who's on the page.
